We know the frustrating story: You have trouble landing a job because you don’t have the right experience, but no one will give you the opportunity to gain that experience. At Approximate, we create those opportunities for you! 

We build simulated internships that give you the opportunity to get real work experience to add to your resume and reference in interviews.

We are running a Jr. Software Engineer Intern simulation that provides: 

  • SWE Experience: You will build out the front-end of an e-commerce clothing store leveraging your experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, complex algorithms, data structures, customer checkout, and inventory management. 

  • Agile Development: You will gain experience working within a sprint development cycle attending weekly standup meetings and daily sprint meetings. 

  • Work Environment: Manage your workflow, tasks, calendar, and time within the sometimes complex world of coworker communication, meetings, and distractions. 

  • Meeting Experience: Attending meetings to receive project updates, track coworker progress and frustration, and showcase your own work.

  • Coworker Communication: Interact with and even build relationships with coworkers to successfully achieve your goals. 

  • Professional Persona Assessment: At the end of your experience, we’ll give you a full assessment based on your interaction with the Approximate platform. Learn more about your professional self, growth opportunities, strengths, and weaknesses. 

The Jr SWE Intern simulation runs for 60-75 hours total. Users can access their work environment 24/7 with no minimum time requirement per session. Work when it is convenient for you! A minimum of 25% completion is required to provide a portfolio project summary and professional persona. 

If your career goals do not align with our current simulation, please still attend or at least reach out to us. In the coming months we will be able to build custom simulations to match your career goals, but we need to know what those are!
